Controllers
Use a USB or Bluetooth gamepad — pair it once and Batocera remembers it for next boot.
USB — plug & play

Plug the controller into a USB port; Batocera detects it instantly.

On first detect, hold a button and follow the on-screen mapping to assign Player 1.
Bluetooth pairing

Press Start → Controller & Bluetooth Settings → Pair a Bluetooth device.

Put the controller in pairing mode (usually hold the home/pairing button until it flashes).

Pick it from the scan list — Batocera pairs it and remembers it on future boots.

If it stops connecting, Forget it in the same menu and pair again.
Mapping buttons

Controller Settings → map / remap; hold a button to start and follow the prompts. Per-game overrides live in each game's options.
Known-good pads

Xbox (USB/BT), PlayStation DualShock 4 / DualSense (BT), 8BitDo and most generic USB pads work out of the box.
